Encaustic, photo transfer, gold leaf on wood panel
This was from my "waxscape series” and was the first commission I’d done since I became a full-time artist. The idea was to explore the inner terrain, similar to how you might observe someone sitting for a portrait, but instead of studying their physical features, considering their life experiences, personality, and beliefs and then creating a scene that hopes to capture their spirit. This captures the adventure of a new couple starting their marriage journey and becoming new homeowners. It’s a story of love, grit, heartache, and building your dreams.
