I love that the word HABIT is found in HABITAT. I come back to this exploration of our behavior in our environment again and again.

Habit is what we bring to our surroundings. Finding order in chaos is the work of an artist. It’s not about fixing anything. It’s about showing up every day, accepting the mess, asking the questions, and looking for clues about where to go next.  A daily routine is everything. Repetition is a device for finding meaning in mundane and understanding that the sum is greater than the parts.

As the last large work of 2024, this piece is about embracing old and new habits. And being comfortable with our spaces and the idea that the art we make may never feel finished. Like us, we’re all seeking, and I think that unfinished quality is exciting as a way to hold space for possibility…

My intentions for 2025 will be about RECONNECTING. To people. My body. Mind. Spirt. My inner child. Hard memories. Soft ones too. Mostly, I want to reconnect again and again to this swelling gratitude that I get to contribute, create, and grow. What a gift.
